Iran carpet center adopts countermeasures to tackle economic meltdown

TEHRAN – The Iran National Carpet Center has adopted special strategies to stop the negative influence of the global economic crisis on Iran’s carpet exports.

According to ISNA, holding carpet festivals and exhibition in Iran and other countries is one of the strategies the center has adopted.
To this end, some related festivals and exhibition will be held in Brazil, Japan, South Africa, South Korea, Russia, and Spain during 2009.
Iran will also offer allowances to foreign tradesmen to take part in domestic exhibitions in the field of carpet, the center will also dispatch some of Iranian carpet producers to DEMOTEX 2009 in Germany, in a bid to hold talks with purchasers and to take orders.
