TV's impact On kids eating

You probably know... too much couch time can lead to weight gain for kids.

University of Minnesota researchers have found that young people who watch a lot of TV may be more likely to have poor eating habits five years into the future.

Scientists looked at almost two-thousand high school and middle school children. They found that kids who watched more than five hours of TV a day had a lower intake of fruits... veggies and whole grains.

But the children had a higher intake fattier fast food as they grew older.

Scientists say this is the first study to look at the relationship between TV viewing and eating trends for adolescents entering into young adulthood.

According to researchers... “less-than-healthy” foods are commonly advertised on TV... and the ads can have a big influence on kids and teenagers.
