Brazil defeats Iran in Futsal Grand Prix

Iran finished second in the 5th edition of Futsal Grand Prix after being badly beaten by Brazil on Sunday.

In the final match held at the Newton de Faria Hall, Brazil easily defeated Iran 7-1 and showed once again they are the best in the world.
Tayebi scored Iran’s sole goal three minutes into the match, but Wilde (13, 14, 34), Ari (7), Falcao (8), Jasem Soltani (31- own goal) and Lukaian (37) scored for Brazil.
""Brazil has once again showed its strength. I want to congratulate the Brazilian fans, who never stopped supporting us,” Brazilian captain Vinicius said.
Iran and Brazil had played in a final game two years ago, in which Iran lost to its powerhouse opponent 4-0 and finished in second place.
Romania beat Czech Republic 4-2 and finished third in the Brazil Futsal Grand Prix.
Falcao was named as the best scorer of the tournament with ten goals.
A total of 16 teams participated in the tournament in two Brazilian cities of Anapolis and Goiania from June 28 to July 5.
The Futsal Grand Prix is an international competition of the same kind as the FIFA Futsal World Championship but with invited nations and held annually in Brazil. It was first held in 2005
