TEHRAN – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has written a letter to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon asking him to take a firm stance toward the merciless killing of Egyptian woman Marwa al-Sherbini in Germany.

In his letter released on Thursday, the president has stated that the death of al-Sherbini has caused “a pain in the hearts” of people around the world and created many “ambiguities in their mind”.
Al-Sherbini, a 32-year-old Egyptian who was about four months pregnant and wore the hijab, had pressed charges against her neighbor for calling her a terrorist and was set to testify against him when he stabbed her 18 times inside a courtroom in front of her 3-year-old son on July 1 in Dresden.
Al-Sherbini’s husband came to her aid and was also stabbed by the assailant and shot in the leg by a security guard.
The Iranian president stated there is a strong view that the crime was a pre-planned attempt engineered by the judicial system and security forces because the security guard targets husband instead of protecting the victim.
“Is not the murder of Mrs. Marwa al-Sherbini a sign of wild racism in some sections of the German government and judicial system? he asked the UN chief.
The president has asked Ban that if he does not take an action toward this horrific murder more similar crimes will happen in the future
