TEHRAN - Ayatollah Mohammad Emami Kashani has said that the Iranian nation is “united and vigilant” and that is why all plots against the Islamic Republic have failed so far.

He made the remarks in a sermon at Friday prayers in Tehran.
Ayatollah Kashani also stated that the Supreme Leader’s approval of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s presidency on Monday was an endorsement of the fact that “republicanism and Islamism” are inseparable in Iran.
The system founded by Imam Khomeini was an Islamic republic, which was overwhelmingly endorsed by the people, he noted, referring to the 1979 referendum in which 98 percent of the people voted “yes” to the Islamic republic system.
The Imam and the voters sought to establish a republicanism based on the spirit of Islam, and the “Constitution is also based on this,” he added.
He also mentioned the extreme pressure imposed on the Islamic Republic over its efforts to utilize nuclear technology for peaceful purposes and the intense propaganda campaign launched against Iran after the June 12 presidential election.
“Unfortunately, sometimes incidents happen which the enemy takes advantage of,” he lamented, adding that all should follow the policies outlined by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
“(But) fortunately, our nation is united and our society is vigilant… and this is why (all) the plots against the Islamic Republic of Iran have gotten nowhere” since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, he added.
All will suffer from schisms: Ayatollah Javadi Amoli
In a sermon at Friday prayers in Qom, Ayatollah Abdollah Javadi Amoli told worshippers that no nation benefits from divisions and called on Iran’s rival factions to set aside their differences, which have intensified since the presidential election.
“Whenever a rift emerges between two people, the two will be weakened,” he noted.
He added, “We share many things in common and the factors that unite us are many.”
He also referred to the statements by the Leader, the ulema, and officials, who have warned rivals to avoid inflammatory language or action.
“The Supreme Leader, the ulema, and all of our officials have repeatedly insisted that (we should) watch our language, be careful in writings, and avoid any action that causes tension.”
Ayatollah Amoli also said differences will be resolved if all factions and groups observe these guidelines “…and we should not lose time (in our efforts) to resolve differences.
