Iran arrests 4 Jundullah terrorists

TEHRAN – Iran on Wednesday arrested four members of Jundullah terror group in the city of Zahedan in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan.

The terror team was planning to carry out a series of attacks in Sunni and Shia neighborhoods in the province in order to saw discord among Muslims, the Intelligence Ministry said in a statement.
Jundullah, also known as Rigi group, is a Pakistan-based terror group comprised of some members of the Baluch ethnic minority. The group is closely affiliated with the notorious al-Qaeda organization.
Intelligence officers confiscated a considerable amount of explosives, ammunitions, and a number of guns in the team’s hideout, the statement read.
Jundullah, has killed scores of Iranian soldiers and border guards since 2003 and brazenly attacked an Iranian police station in December 2008.
In late May the notorious group detonated a bomb in a mosque in Zahedan, the capital of Sistan-Baluchestan province, killing 25 people and wounding many more.
Some 13 members of the terror group were hanged in July
