MP says 12 officers, judges prosecuted over Kahrizak incidents

TEHRAN – 12 police officers and judges, who violated the law in dealing with the post-election detainees at the Kahrizak detention center, have been sacked and prosecuted, the chairman of the Majlis special committee on post-election detentions has said.

Soon after the Majlis special committee members met with prisoners, detainees who were released, detention centers’ wardens, and judges 12 officers and judges were fired and prosecuted, MP Parviz Sorouri told the Mehr News Agency on Saturday.
The Kahrizak detention center, located south of Tehran, was closed on the order of Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei because it was substandard. -
