TEHRAN, Sept. 21 (MNA) -- Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Director Ali Akbar Salehi has called on Persian Gulf states to visit Iran’s nuclear facilities.

“Arab states of the Persian Gulf could make use of Iran’s experience in building nuclear plants. We invite them to come and visit to our nuclear facilities,” Salehi told reporters at a press conference here today/yesterday.
For the timing of Bushehr plant becoming operational he said “(presently) Bushehr plant is undergoing (technical) tests.” “once fuel enters into the main tank of the plant it will be ready for operation which will be announced at the appropriate time,” he highlighted.
Referring to repeated delays in the timing for completion of Bushehr plant Salehi explained “(the case of) Bushehr plant might be (a) rare (example) worldwide and no one can find (a plant) similar to that (as it houses a mix of western and eastern technologies).”
He dismissed political reasons behind delays for completion of the plant by the Russian saying “There have been various issues behind such delays a top of them financial and technical hurdles.”
The Vice-President hailed Iran’s Russia cooperation in building Bushehr plant as ‘positive’. He further added Iran and Russia have been in good and close cooperation to finish the plant.
Asked about Iran seeking compensation from the Russians for delays in the completion of Bushehr plant Salehi underlined that Iran is not seeking compensation from the Russians.
In response to a question about the timing of the construction of Darkhovein nuclear plant he added “The plant (to be constructed in southern Iran) will be an indigenous (plant).
“Presently we are working on designing of the plant and providing necessary equipment and facilities for construction of the plant.
