Iran, Belarus to set up joint trade council

MOSCOW – Iran and Belarus signed a memorandum of understanding to set up a joint trade council during the Iranian business delegation’s visit to Mink.

Based on the signed MOU, the two sides are to introduce their representatives to the council in one month, IRNA reported on Saturday.

The 45-member Iranian business delegation headed for the Belarusian capital Minsk on Monday.

Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines Chairman Mohammad Nahavandian and Tehran Province’s Commerce Organization Director Seyyed Ali Mousavi are supervising the delegation.

So far Nahavandian has held meetings with the Belarusian Industry Minister Alexander M. Radevich and the nation’s deputy Agriculture ministers.

During its one-week stay, the Iranian delegation plans to hold meetings with the Belarusian officials and businessmen to review the two countries’ trade relations and discuss possible ways for removing the obstacles.
