TEHRAN -- The Contemporary Visual Art Museum of Bank Pasargad was inaugurated at the Saba Art and Cultural Institute on Tuesday October 6.

Collaborating in art and cultural affairs was one of the main policies of the bank from the very beginning of its establishment, said Ali-Akbar Amin-Tafreshi, the director of Pars-Aryan Company affiliated to Bank Pasargad.
“Most legitimate international banks and companies perform social activities on the side such as engaging in protecting the environment,” he remarked.
Amin-Tafreshi added that the museum has purchased a collection of 300 artworks of which almost 150 have been put on display at the museum and the rest will go on show when more space becomes available.
He further continued, “Iranian art enjoys a variety of expression and we could not manage to invest in its all different forms. Our policy was to invest in visual and modern art.”
Bank Pasargad is determined to promote art and Iranian artists especially contemporary artists, and assist in representing Iranian art at international auctions, he mentioned.
University scholar Mohammad-Ebrahim Jafari, who was also present at the opening ceremony, said that the artworks purchased are an appropriate selection and it shows that special attention has been paid to the collection.
The new museum plays host to works by masters like Mohammad Ehsaii, Aidin Aghdashlu, Gholamhossein Nami, Afshin Pirhashemi, Bahman Mohasses, Jalal Shabahangi, Zahra Rahnavard, and Hamid Ajami.
Saba Institute is located on Mozaffar St., off Taleqani Ave. near Felestin Square.
