Non-oil exports tripled: President
Tehran Times Economic Desk

TEHRAN – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Iranian exports of non-oil goods in the past four years has tripled, and predicted that exports will reach $50 billion in the next four years.

The president expressed his appreciation and gratitude towards 48 exporters in a gathering of exemplary tradesmen celebrating the National Exports Day in Tehran on Tuesday night, and stated non-oil exports five years ago were $7 billion, which has tripled in four years and reached $23 billion.

He pointed out that this success was achieved during the toughest times while two international setbacks were hindering any advance.

One setback was the ‘global economic crisis’ which led to the paralysis of leading world economic powers, and the other was ‘grudges and immorality of some countries’, he said adding, Iranian exporters were able to overcome the effects of the sanctions.

Ahmadinejad highlighted a bright future ahead of Iranian exporters, and stated that the capabilities of the Iranian nation were unique and endless
