Majidi out of Iran football team

TEHRAN - Farhad Majidi will miss Iran’s friendly against Macedonia due to a back injury.

Majidi, who had been called up to the national team following a good performance in Esteghlal, will not be able to play this time.

He came off the bench and played well on Saturday against Jordan in the 2011 Asian Cup qualifiers.

Afshin Ghotbi’s team will travel to Amman to play its away game against Jordan on November 22.

Iran has been drawn in Group Five along with Singapore, Thailand and Jordan. Iran leads the group with seven points
