Iran among nominee for AFC award

KUALA LUMPUR - Iran Football Federation is among the Asian Football Confederation nominees for the best federation of the year, according to AFC.

AFC Annual Awards 2009 will take place on November 24 at the Shangri-La Hotel in the Malaysian capital.

A total of 18 awards - for both men and women - will be handed out to the bests of the continent.

Iran Football Federation, Iraq Football Association, Japan Football Association, and the UAE Football Association are in the fray for the AFC Association of the Year.

Iran’s Hadi Aghily has been nominated to win the AFC Player of the Year award. Syed Mohamed Adnan (Bahrain), Kengo Nakamura (Japan), Yasuhito Endo (Japan) and Firas Al Khatib (Syria) are the other candidates
