Tar virtuoso Saket to perform in United States

TEHRAN -- Tar virtuoso Keyvan Saket will be giving improvisational performances on December 3 and 13 in the United States.

The concert will have two sections of setar solo and tar solo performances, Saket said, adding that the performances will take place in Virginia and Washington followed by workshops with the central theme of a modern outlook toward Iranian music.

IAF to host guitar players’ competition

TEHRAN -- Iran’s Artists Forum (IAF) will be hosting a guitar music competition on November 29 and 30 sponsored by a private sector.

Keyvan Mirhadi, director of the competition, said that the program will include flamenco and classic performances on the first day, and on its second day there will be electronic and blues.

Mirhadi added that honorary plaques and guitar instruments would be awarded to the winners..
