Noah’s Ark festival honors Iranian actor Hossein Yari

TEHRAN -- Hossein Yari has won the best actor award of the 2nd Noah’s Ark international film festival in Moscow for his role in the Iranian film “White Sneakers” directed by Mohammad-Ebrahim Moayyeri.

The first edition of the event took place in Grozny, the capital of the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Republic last year.

However, due to the global economic crisis, Moscow played host to this year’s festival from November 15 to 28.

Dutch trio to reprise Tehran concerts in Shiraz

Ahmadinejad invited to Rumi commemoration ceremony in Konya

TEHRAN -- President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been invited to attend the commemoration ceremonies, which will be held in Konya, Turkey on December 17.

Ahmadinejad is expected to visit Konya to watch the performance of Whirling Dervishes as a part of the annual ceremonies held in the central Turkish province on the death anniversary of the Persian poet Molana Jalal ad-Din Rumi (1207-1273), Turkish state news agency Anadolu reported on Sunday..
