Khatami: All should condemn slogans contradicting the Islamic system

TEHRAN – Former President Mohammad Khatami announced on Monday that all political groups should condemn slogans which run against the principles of the Islamic Revolution.

Khatami said extremism and law-breaking will harm the society and “all should condemn it.”
In a reference to some slogans uttered by some protestors, he said, “Even if several persons voice law-breaking slogans it should be condemned.”
“Our position has been and will be clear: Islam, revolution and the Islamic Republic,” the former reformist president said in a meeting with a number of former lawmakers.
“Is it fair that the best loyalists of Islam and revolution and people and Imam (Khomeini) to be accused of” being the enemies of “Islam and the system” if a person or a small group has done some kind of violation or broken the law? the former president ask.
The said activities within the framework of the constitution and observing law and avoiding extremism will lead to a resolution of problems and will calm down the society, he noted
