TEHRAN -- Iranian Cultural Week opened Monday at the Emilio Aguinaldo College in Manila, Philippines.

A series of cultural programs and exhibits are arranged for the week at several universities and colleges throughout the capital.
Iran’s cultural ambassador to Philippines, as well as Iranian cultural and political figures and students attended the opening ceremony. Also attending were several Iranian artists dispatched from Iran.
Emilio Aguinaldo College is now playing host to several exhibitions of handicrafts, paintings, miniatures, photos, and a book fair, along with a workshop for training in making Persian handicrafts.
Iranian traditional music performances are also organized for the event at several locations including the University of the City of Manila, and Mapua Institute of Technology.
The National Commission for Culture and the Arts of the Philippines will also be screening Iranian movies during the program.
In addition, a two-day seminar under the title of “Globalization and National Identity among Asian Nations” is scheduled to open mid-March at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila at which Iranian scholar Hamid Ahamdi will be lecturing
