‘Israeli threats against Iran just propaganda’

TEHRAN -- Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast has dismissed the Zionist regime’s threats against the Islamic Republic as just propaganda.

If the Zionist regime had the capability to destroy the Muslim world, nothing would stop it, Mehmanparast told reporters at a press conference on Tuesday.
“The root of all problems in the region is this cancerous tumor,” he added.
The fact that Israel constantly threatens other nations shows that it is becoming more insecure and increasingly at odds with other countries, he noted.
He also warned that Iran would seriously respond if it came under attack.
----U.S. nuclear summit just a show
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman also stated that the United States’ Nuclear Security Summit is just a show meant to influence public opinion.
The fact that countries which possess nuclear weapons angrily threaten non-nuclear weapons states at these conferences raises doubts about such meetings.
In addition, they are not willing to dismantle their own stockpiles of nuclear weapons, he noted.
He went on to say that certain Western countries hold such summits to create a false perception about the issue and to sway public opinion.
The United States, France, and some other countries take pride in possessing nuclear weapons, which is a symbol of state-sponsored terrorism, he added.
--- Iran ready to negotiate to obtain fuel for Tehran research reactor
On the issue of procuring nuclear fuel for the Tehran research reactor, Mehpanparast stated that Iran is always ready to negotiate.
Iran will welcome any move by International Atomic Energy Agency member states that facilitates efforts to obtain fuel for the Tehran research reactor, he said.
“We cannot afford to lose more time to obtain fuel for the Tehran reactor and (to wait and) see what countries come along, with their preconditions, to take action on what is Iran’s right,” he added
