TEHRAN -- The Egyptian pavilion was shut down at the 23rd Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) on Thursday for offering a book promoting the false, misleading and recently-concocted name of Arabian gulf.

The correct, research-verified and historically documented name for the body of water is the Persian Gulf.
“Police on patrol disguised as visitors stumbled upon a book entitled ‘Arabian Gulf Encyclopedia’, offered in the Egyptian pavilion at the Tehran International Book Fair,” Tehran Police Chief Hossein Sajedinia told the Persian service of ISNA.
“Consequently, the pavilion was shut down and police forces recovered the distributed copies of the book with the help of TIBF officials and judicial authorities,” he added.
A total 980 foreign publishers from some 90 countries are participating in the TIBF, which runs until May 15.
