Iran bars two IAEA inspectors for filing false report
Tehran Times Political Desk
TEHRNA – Iran’s atomic energy agency chief announced on Monday that he has written a letter to that International Atomic Energy Agency announcing that Tehran will not allow two inspectors to visit Iran.
The two became persona non grata henceforth since they had released an untruthful report about Iran’s nuclear activity, Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Director Ali Akbar Salehi said on Monday.
Their report was “completely untruthful” and Tehran asked the IAEA not to send these two inspectors to Iran and instead assign two others, Salehi stated.
If an inspector issues a report contrary to the standing fact, Iran has the right to make an objection, Salehi, a nuclear physicist, noted.
However, Salehi neither named the two people nor gave details over what parts of the report were false.
Salehi also said inspectors were not entitled to visit the Iranian nuclear sites without warning.
“Inspections should be thoroughly within the non-proliferation treaty,” he said, adding that Iran was not committed to an additional protocol which allows unlimited inspections
