TEHRAN – A terrorist bomb blast in northeast Iraq on Friday left two Iranian pilgrims dead and five others wounded.

The bomb, which was hidden by terrorist elements on a main road near Muqdadiya in Diyala province, went off when a bus of Iranian pilgrims was going past the area.
Two of the wounded people are in serious condition.
So far, the Iraqi security officers have arrested four suspects in connection with the incident.
Terrorists use every opportunity to vent their anger on Iranians visiting holy sites in Iraq. For example, about 53 Iranian pilgrims were killed and over 70 others wounded in a suicide attack near Muqdadiya in Diyala province in April 2009. The blast occurred inside a crowded roadside restaurant filled with Iranian pilgrims.
Seven Iranian pilgrims were also killed in July last year as their bus came under fire near the Khosravi border point in western Iran.
Moreover, in a suicide terrorist attack, in front of Iran’s embassy in Baghdad on April 4, 19 people were killed and many more injured.
Two other explosions went off in an area that houses several embassies, including the Egyptian Consulate, Syrian, German and Spanish embassies. The blasts on April 4 went off within minutes of each other killing at least 35 people, injuring more than 200.
According to the Guardian newspaper the heaviest death toll was outside the Iranian mission, where police said at least 19 people were killed.
