TEHRAN -- MP Hojjatoleslam Seyyed Reza Akrami has said that the students’ gathering in front of the parliament on Tuesday was an action that caused friction and division in society.

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei emphasized the need for unity and solidarity in his recent statements, which were based on the current situation in society, he told the Mehr News Agency on Sunday.
Akrami, who represents Tehran in the parliament, stated, “The existence of extremism in society is not proper and runs contrary to the interests of the nation, and the students’ insulting of the Majlis, the Majlis speaker, and MPs was an instance of such extremism.”
He added that everyone must avoid any ill-considered words or rallies since such things weaken the Islamic system.
Differences are natural, but everyone should pay attention to how they approach disagreements, he said.
Akrami asked, “Do we approach them through the logic of power or the power of logic?”
“At this juncture, there is no confrontation, meaning dispute, between the Majlis and the administration just because the Majlis says the administration must implement the laws ratified by the Majlis, and if one says I will not implement a law because I do not approve of it, or it is not in our interests, it is a violation of the presidential oath of office. The same is true for MPs,” he added.
