TEHRAN - The Iranian armed forces will test-fire new missiles on August 22, which is the national Defense Industry Day.

The new generation of Qiam (Uprising) missiles and the third generation of Fateh (Conqueror) missiles will be tested on this day, Defense Minister Ahmad Vahid told reporters at a press conference in Tehran on Tuesday.
Iran will also unveil its first domestically manufactured long-range unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), called the Karrar, on August 22, Vahidi stated.
Iran inaugurated the production line of two reconnaissance UAVs in February.
The two drones, named Rad and Nazir, are capable of conducting patrolling and bombing missions with high precision.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Vahidi said that Russia has not declared its official stance on the delivery of the S-300 missile system since the UN Security Council ratified a resolution imposing sanctions on Iran on June 9.
Russian officials are waiting for orders from their president, he added.
Asked about Iran’s relations with its neighbors, he said Iran has amicable relations with neighboring countries despite efforts made by the U.S. to show that there are disagreements between Iran and other regional countries.
Iranian officials’ visits to these countries are proof of these amicable ties, he added.
