Tehran gallery holds photographer Ahmad Aali retrospective

TEHRAN -- The Mah-e Mehr Gallery is currently holding a retrospective of Iranian photographer Ahmad Aali.

A collection of Aali’s pictures taken from 1961 to 2009 are currently on display at the gallery.
Forty photos are on display at the showcase that opened from September 24.
“Aali’s Book” was unveiled during a ceremony on the sidelines of the exhibit. The 260 book is designed by Ebrahim Haqiqi and notes by Shahriar Tavakkoli, Turaj Hamidian and Ebrahim Haqiqi are also included in the book, which includes a collection of anonymous undated photos by Aali.
He always stressed that photography for him is not only a depiction of mere reality but also reflects some of the characteristics of his age.
A documentary on the life and works of Aali directed by Mohammad Shiri went on screen at the exhibit.
The gallery is located at No.7, Nilufar St., off Africa Ave.
