TEHRAN – In a meeting in Tehran on Tuesday President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Bolivian counterpart Evo Morales reiterated their call that the resistance front of the independent nations against the hegemonic and imperialist powers should be strengthened.

Morales arrived in Tehran on Sunday night for a three-day official visit. He was officially received by Ahmadinejad at the Saadabad presidential palace on Tuesday.
“Undoubtedly, the reinforcement of the independent nations’ front will benefit the global peace and security, and will further undermine the capitalist system,” Ahmadinejad noted.
“The course of the history is changing in favor of the independent nations and we should smartly take advantage of the current situation,” he explained.
Morales said a close cooperation of the independent countries can reduce the vulnerability of these countries to the hegemonic and imperialistic powers.
During his visit to Iran, Morales is scheduled to hold meetings with Iranian officials on bilateral economic cooperation. Iranian and Bolivian officials are also expected to sign economic, industrial and agricultural agreements.
It is the Bolivian president’s second trip to Iran over the past two years. In recent years, Iran has tried to expand its ties with countries in Latin America, which once was regarded as the U.S. backyard. Last week, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez paid an official visit to Iran with the aim of developing economic ties with Iran. -
