Benin says it shares views with Iran on global issues

TEHRAN – Iran and Benin share similar views as to how to manage world affairs, Benin’s President Yayi Boni said on Sunday.

Boni made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki in Porto Novo.
The two countries believe that all nations should live in peace and enjoy a prosperous life, Boni said.
He expressed hope that Mottaki’s visit to his country will help strengthen peace and stability in the region.
He also said Benin is interested to expand cooperation with Tehran.
Mottaki, for his part, said the political and cultural relations between Iran and Africa have progressed well. He added the Iranian government is determined to strengthen its economic ties with African nations in parallel with political relationship.
He also said that the two nations could develop cooperation in car manufacturing, oil, agriculture, industry and mines
