TEHRAN -- Iran and Saudi Arabia are currently making efforts to increase their interactions, Tehran’s ambassador to Riyadh said on Saturday.

“We have not had any interactions between delegations before, but fortunately, over the past two months, the two countries have exchanged delegations,” Ambassador Mohammad Javad Rasouli told the Mehr News Agency.
Over the past two years, relations have been frozen between the two nations, which are two important Islamic countries in both the region and the world, Rasouli stated.
He also said that media outlets can play an important role in helping efforts to expand ties between Tehran and Riyadh.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he said the hajj issue has always been the main topic of talks between officials of the two countries.
Hajj is the pilgrimage to Mecca, which every adult Muslim is supposed to make at least once in his or her lifetime.
Rasouli added that during this year’s hajj, there were no reports that Saudi Arabian police officers mistreated Iranian pilgrims
