‘Iran ready to control border if Pakistan shirks its duty’

TEHRAN - Iran is ready to take control of the border with Pakistan, in line with its legitimate rights, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces announced on Monday.

Major General Hassan Firouzabadi said Tehran regards ties with Islamabad as important, but Pakistan does not deal with terrorists seriously.
If Pakistan does not take serious measures to halt terrorist activities along the border with Iran, Iran will take control of the borders, he noted.
Firouzabadi made the remarks in response to a terrorist attack in southeastern Iran last week.
