TEHRAN -- Iranian and foreign guests discussed the impact of Hollywood in the world of cinema, focusing on Hollywoodism, terrorism, the Pentagon, and the CIA as part of the 29th Fajr International Film Festival on Sunday.

Organizers of the festival, in collaboration with the Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, have arranged the two-day conference “Hollywoodism and Cinema”.
The session was attended by a group of Iranian and foreign cineastes, writers and critics in which presenter of the program, Iranian director Nader Talebzadeh of “Jesus, the Spirit of God”, began his speech on the opportunity provided for the world critics and experts to openly talk about the issue.
“The element of attraction is being used in Hollywood, by making the best use of the world media over the past century. This is becoming a huge threat. They are trying to reflect their ideas in the most influential way and we need to make the best use of this meeting to achieve the right results.
Guest Marian Tutui from Romania talked about cinema and its importance in saying cinema is a major factor in transferring concepts. Hollywood producers proceed in a way to make the world dependent on their own productions. They create a variety of new products to satisfy every taste. They also try to manipulate the stories very simply without complications and easily transfer their notions to the audiences in the world.
Maria Pommier, from France, also talked about the topic and said that there are efforts to destroy the spirit of every individual in order to make people feel the fear of terrorism. This is the image Hollywood is depicting in the worst way possible. Hollywood producers also use the holocaust to devastate the morals of human beings. They use this procedure to avoid having people ask any questions on the holocaust.
Iranian director of the political documentary “The 9/11 Black Box” Mohammadreza Eslamlu, who also was present at the session said, “Hollywood is empty. It is like a stick the magician holds in his hand that he uses to do his tricks”.
