Be ready to liberate Galilee, Nasrallah tells Hezbollah fighters

BEIRUT - Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah has urged the fighters of the Islamic resistance movement to be prepared to take Galilee if another Lebanon-Israel war breaks out and has vowed to avenge the death of Hezbollah commander Imad Mughnieh.

“I say to the fighters of the Islamic resistance: Be ready. If a new war is imposed on Lebanon, we may ask you to take Galilee, to free Galilee,” Nasrallah said on Wednesday in a televised speech given on Lebanon’s Martyrs’ Day, AFP reported.
He vowed that the martyrdom of Imad Mughnieh, who was killed in a February 2008 car bombing in Damascus that Hezbollah has blamed on Israel, would not be forgotten and would not go unpunished.
“I do not want to go into details. Suffice to say that our decision remains the same and will be executed, God willing, at the right time,” he said to thunderous applause from hundreds of his supporters gathered in a stadium.
“To the Zionist generals, I say: Anywhere you go in the world, at any time, watch out, for the blood of Imad Mughnieh will not go to waste.”
Nasrallah was speaking through a large TV screen set up at a ceremony held by Hezbollah at the Sayyed Shohada’a compound in Beirut’s southern suburbs to commemorate the martyrdom of leaders of the resistance, AL Manar reported.
Nasrallah also pointed out that the anniversary of the Iranian revolution coincided with the overthrow of the Egyptian regime of “tyrant” Hosni Mubarak and the victory of the Egyptian people.
He noted that February 11 was the day of the collapse of two of the most important allies of the United States and Israel in the region, namely the shah’s monarchist regime in Iran in 1979 and Hosni Mubarak’s regime in Egypt in 2011.
Nasrallah added that the assassination of former Lebanese prime minister Rafiq Hariri also occurred in the month of February. He stated that this crime had very dangerous and serious effects on Lebanon and the region. “We’re still living in this crime’s repercussions to this day,” he observed.
The Hezbollah secretary general also spoke about the lessons to be learned from the martyrs of the Islamic resistance.
“When we commemorate their anniversary, it’s not to praise them but to learn from them and their jihad. We renew with them our pledge to continue the path.”
Nasrallah noted that the common characteristic of the leaders who were martyred is that they were the founders of the resistance. “They did not give up, they were not tired. They sacrificed their own lives for this resistance. These leaders are the best interpretation of a 30-year stage in the history of our resistance as well as the history of Lebanon and the region. Each one of them was a symbol in himself.”
Nasrallah said that Hezbollah does not look at its martyrs and resistance as separate from the overall situation in Lebanon and the region. “We’re a part and a continuation of the resistance leaders and the founders of the Lebanese leadership, at the top of whom comes Imam Musa Sadr and others.”
He said that the Islamic resistance in Lebanon should be perceived as a part of the awareness movements in the region and also as a part of the defiance movement. “Lebanon is affecting and is affected by the balance of power in the region,” Nasrallah stated.
Commenting on the latest developments in Egypt and the Egyptian revolution, he said, “There’s no doubt what happened in Egypt is huge and historical.”
Nasrallah saluted the Egyptian nation and revolution and thanked the people of Egypt for their revolution, which resulted in the liberation of brother Mohamad Mansour, known as Sami Shehab, who was falsely charged with seeking to overthrow the Mubarak regime.
Hezbollah member Sami Shehab, who was in prison in Egypt before the regime was toppled but later released, attended the ceremony on Wednesday and was cheered by the crowd.
Nasrallah said the resistance groups of the region have never attacked anybody and emphasized that they are the only guarantee of stability and justice in the region.
