Iran’s Minister of Cooperatives Mohammad Abbasi says that the US-backed UN sanctions against Iran have never been able to restrict the country.

Addressing worshippers in Tehran before the Friday Prayers, Abbasi said that “Today there are many enemies and obstacles before us and the only way to overcome them is dependence on the nation and government’s Jihadi spirit…,”
The minister added that the most important responsibility of planners, policymakers and executive managers in the Year of the Economic Jihad -- as named by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei -- is following the Leader’s guidelines.
“The country’s economic movement should be beyond norms and based on Ayatollah Khamenei’s instructions,” he continued.
Stressing that anti-Iran sanctions have not been restrictive, Abbasi said knowing the enemy and confronting its restraining policies are among the most important characteristics of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
