TEHRAN -- Iran’s Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC) will be presenting its latest productions this year at the Cannes Film Market.

“Passion of Charlie”, “The 9/11 Black Box”, “Here Is Paradise”, “Moonlight on the Platform”, and “Endless” are the five movies at the market, DEFC director Shafi Aqamohammadian told the Persian service of Fars News Agency.
Each film will have two public screenings during the market running from May 11 to 22, he added
“Passion of Charlie” by Alireza Saadatnia features the story of a street salesman who sells petroleum but then purchases a projector and establishes a mobile cinema.
The political documentary “The 9/11 Black Box” by director Mohammadreza Eslamlu refers to the term ‘9/11 black box’, which was frequently used by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in his speech at the UN headquarters in New York.
The film is about a committed Iranian documentarian named Mohammad who has an apocalyptic view toward contemporary events that are happening in the world. Accompanied by the French journalist and political activist Thierry Meyssan, Mohammad tries to make a documentary according to Meyssan’s research on 9/11.
“Here Is Paradise” by Hamid Salimian narrates the story of seven-year old Ali. He is little but his mature soul is seeking new things. The forest, which is frightening for everyone else, turns into a lovely shelter for him.
“Moonlight on the Platform” by Fima Emami centers on tazieh, the Iranian passion play.
“Endless” by Amir-Hossein Jahdust tells the story of a young girl named Afsaneh. She comes home with loads of of goods after shopping. She has a special task to do at mid-day but faces several problems.
