Iran, Iraq plan to sign 6 economic MOUs

TEHRAN -- Iranian First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi will visit Iraq on July 6 in order to take part in the Iran-Iraq Joint Supreme Economic Committee, Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi said here on Tuesday.

The Mehr news agency quoted Salehi as saying that, “the two countries have reached agreement for signing 4 memorandums of understanding and 2 other items are also being discussed which is hoped to be finalized by the mentioned date.”
Talking in a joint press conference with his Iraqi counterpart Hoshyar Zebari, Salehi put the two countries’ current annual trade value at $4-5 billion.
The aim of forming the Iran-Iraq Joint Supreme Economic Committee is to expand economic relations between the two countries.
