TEHRAN – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Tuesday that Iran is optimistic about an end to military attacks on Yemen in the future hours.

Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks at the beginning of trilateral meeting of Iran, Syria and Switzerland’s deputy foreign ministers in Tehran.

He said various Yemeni groups will “gather at negotiating table” in future hours to make efforts to boost the country’s “political procedure”, he stated.

He went on to say that Iran’s diplomatic apparatus pays attention to developments in Yemen and is “optimistic” about an end to attacks on Yemen in future hours following efforts that have been made.

-----‘Intervention in Yemen incompatible with Islamic principles’----

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Tuesday that some countries’ “irresponsible intervention” in Yemen is not compatible with the Islamic principles and international regulations.

He made the remarks before his departure to Indonesia to attend the African-Asian Conference.

He went on to say that such interventions are due to lack of “mental balance” in those who meddle in Yemen, adding that such behaviors should be strongly condemned.

He also stated that Iran’s proposition, which is immediate ceasefire, attention to the people’s situation, Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue and formation of an inclusive government, is the only way to settle crisis in Yemen.

Rouhani added that definitely “military intervention” is not the way to resolve the Yemen crisis.

The Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani also said on Tuesday that there is no military solution to the Yemen crisis.
