Who is real winner of nuclear deal?

After the passage of over twelve years of constant and breathtaking nuclear negotiations, the 5+1 group of world powers and Iran could finally clinch a long-awaited nuclear pact, which can be referred to as one of the most outstanding political events of the twenty-first century.

History keeps track of the role of people, institutions, and the atmosphere surrounding the events to record what has taken shape. In every single historical event, the extent of the influence of these factors could be assessed and evaluated and the degree of each factor’s influence can highlight the scope of its significance.

Taking a look at the 12-year-long path of negotiations between Iran and the 5+1 group, it could be easily inferred that the talks have always been an unequal and hostile aggression by the world powers against Tehran. Hence, for many reasons, Iran could pass all these hardships after years of constant and serious negotiations.

In this context, one could refer to history and see the tough and difficult path that the negotiations have gone through and also witness which logic could resist all the pressure and hardships in the present contaminated political atmosphere and help reach an agreement which is accepted by both the sides.

This rivalry can be better understood by looking at the mentality of Iran and its rivals in the 5+1 group. Iran has always been insisting on issues such as constructive negotiations, inalienable right to nuclear technology, a deal with integrity, and a heroic flexibility in the face of the world powers who have proven that they do not live up to their promises.

This is while the world powers have been insisting on issues such as an end to the Iranian nuclear activities, sanctions to weaken Iran, and repetitive military and non-military threats, and also accusing Iran of lacking diplomatic logic and incompatibility with the international community.

In such an atmosphere, it could be very well stated that the Islamic Republic’s constructive efforts could have never been achieved without solid support from the country’s decision-making system. The nuclear rights were safeguarded through the guidelines of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei along with an experienced diplomatic team in the Rouhani administration, backed by the support of the great Iranian nation.
