TEHRAN – The spokesman for the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has rejected as “sheer lie” reports that IRGC Quds Force Commander Major General Qassem Soleimani has been injured in Syria, saying such allegations are aimed at influencing the public opinion and the resistance forces.

Certain media reports on Tuesday claimed that General Soleimani and two of his companions had been seriously injured 12 days earlier in Aleppo’s battles after they had been targeted with a TOW anti-tank rocket, IRNA reported on Tuesday.

Director of the IRGC Public Relations Department General Ramezan Sharif stressed that General Soleimani is in perfect health and is energetically assisting the Islamic resistance in Syria and Iraq in fight against Takfiri terrorists.

“We consider the reports on his injury as lies aimed at influencing the public opinion and the resistance front,” Sharif stated.
