Tehran meeting to review Susan Sontag’s “Against Interpretation”

TEHRAN – A number of Iranian literati, academics and art critics will come together in a session at Jalil Shahnaz Hall of the Iran’s Artists Forum on December 27 to review American writer and filmmaker Susan Sontag’s “Against Interpretation”.


The translator of the book, Majid Akhgar, and experts Farshid Azarang and Amir Nasri will deliver speeches during the meeting.

The book contains her essays “Notes on Camp” and “Against Interpretation”, as well as her impassioned discussions of science-fiction movies, psychoanalysis and contemporary religious thought.

The book also known as “Against Interpretation and Other Essays” was first published in 1966.
