TEHRAN – Leader the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that the Iranian people will be the winner of the “strong and national competition” in the February elections.

“In this competition, winning or losing has no sense for the nation, because in any case the Iranian nation is the actual and final winner,” the Leader noted during a meeting with officials tasked to hold parliamentary and the Assembly of Experts elections.

Elaborating on the necessities of a healthy competitive election, the Leader said all, even those who do not approve of the system, should vote in the elections which will be held simultaneously on February 26.

Those who do not approve the system but seek national security and progress should participate in the elections, Ayatollah Khamenei insisted.

The Leader described participation in the elections as the main condition of a healthy election.

The second condition of a healthy election is “insightful” participation of the people in election and voting for “competent” candidates.

The Leader reiterated “even those who do not approve of the system should participate in the elections” but they should not gain a seat in the parliament.

Those who “approve of the system and its interests and national values” should take seats in Majlis, he added.

Elsewhere, the Leader praised the efforts made by President Rouhani and his nuclear negotiating team during the talks with great powers.

He slammed those who described the result of the talks and implementation of the nuclear deal as a “favor” to Iran by the United States.

He said that the nuclear achievements are a result of efforts made by those nuclear scientists who were martyred and the resistance of the Iranian nation.

The Leader also warned the officials of the U.S. “deceits” after the implementation of the nuclear agreement.

He urged the officials to respond to any violation in the process of implementing the nuclear accord, officially called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Leader said that the resistance economy is the “main strategy” to resolve the economic problems.

The nuclear deal, which was reached between Iran and the 5+1 group (the United States, Britain, France, China and Russia plus Germany) in Vienna on July 14, 2015, went into force on Saturday.
