BISHKEK -- Deputy Science, Research and Technology Minister in Foreign Students Affairs Hossein Yazdanpanh here on Friday morning met and conferred with Kyrgyzstan's Deputy Culture and Education Minister Anatoli Ivanikov.

The perspective of the two countries' cooperation in higher education field, research works and exchange of university students and professors was discussed between the two countries' officials during the meeting.

The two deputy ministers meanwhile stressed on the need for the implementation of the articles of the already signed agreements regarding scientific and research cooperation.

Yazdanpanh who is in Kyrgyzstan atop an academic delegation, told IRNA at the end of his three day official visit that the Iranian delegation has visited Kyrgyzstan's higher education centers and exchanged viewpoints with the officials of that sector on issues of mutual interest. He added, "The ground was paved during those meetings for getting more acquainted of each side with the potential capabilities of the other side, and for expanding the range of the two countries'academic and research cooperation."

According to him, the higher education centers in both countries would in near future arrange for the visits by academic delegations to discover further possible fields for cooperation.

Yazdanpanah referred to the establishment and activities of Kyrgyzstan's Islamic Studies and Iranology, as well as, adding an Islamic studies course at the National University of Kyrgyzstan, as the primary fruits of the two countries' academic cooperation so far.
