TEHRAN -- Yemeni ambassador to Tehran, Albdol-Qavi Abdol-Vase al-Aryani, in a meeting with Tehran Mayor Mahmoud Ahmadinejad here on Wednesday, discussed mutual cooperation in the field of urban management.

At the meeting, Tehran mayor, referring to the history of ties between Iran and Yemen, called for bolstering the level of relations and collaborations.

"Assets of Islamic cities belong to the entire world of Islam and we do our best to make all Muslims feel at home in Tehran," he added.

The Yemeni ambassador briefed Ahmadinejad on the urban, cultural and architectural features of the Yemeni capital city of Sana and said that during the visit of President Mohammad Khatami to the city, a street was named `Iran', IRNA reported.

The diplomat pointed out that the two states enjoy 2,000 years of cooperation.

He called for making use of Iran's expertise in urban construction, especially in setting up the late Imam Khomeini Mossala (praying center) and the building of the Organization of Islamic Conference.

In line with expansion of mutual ties and taking a similar step comparable to naming a street in Yemeni capital as `Iran', the joint proposal of Tehran Municipality and Foreign Ministry to Majlis was ratified and Tabnak Street in Tehran was therefore renamed as `Yemen' recently.
