Capital of POWs Committee Should Be Increased: MPs

TEHRAN (Mehr News Agency) — In an open letter to President Mohamed Khatami here Wednesday, some 160 parliament members asked him to increase the capital of the POWs Committee.

The establishment of the headquarters was first approved by the parliament on December 4, 1989. It has so far rendered valuable services in the fields of land, housing, occupation, healthcare, cultural affairs and welfare to the former POWs," the letter reads. The letter also thanked the chairman of the committee, Abbas-Ali Vakili, for his good management.
