VIVO Orchestra to perform at Tehran’s Rudaki Hall under Paniz Faryousefi

TEHRAN- VIVO Orchestra, conducted by Paniz Faryousefi, is scheduled to perform at Tehran’s Rudaki Hall on Monday evening, featuring a program spanning works by renowned Iranian and international composers.

The concert will include compositions by German-British composer George Frideric Handel, British composer Edward Elgar, Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, as well as Iranian composers Mohammad Saeid Sharifian, Mohammadreza Tafazzoli, Mani Jafarzadeh and Hassan Rahimi.

Behrad Ali Qorchi will serve as concertmaster, while Houra Joneidi will be the executive director of the performance.

The performance is part of the orchestra’s ongoing activities aimed at presenting orchestral music and bringing works from different musical traditions to Iranian audiences.

Iranian musician, violinist, and conductor Paniz Faryousefi became the first woman to conduct the Tehran Symphony Orchestra in its history in November 2025, leading the orchestra in the “Simorgh’s Abode” concert.

A graduate of the Tehran Music Conservatory and the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan, Faryousefi, 42, is concertmaster with the Tehran Philharmonic Orchestra. 

She is also the founder and leader of the Novak String Quartet, and has appeared as an invited guest violinist with the New York Philharmonic.
