TEHRAN (P.I.N.) -- Based on the latest statistics, Iran's oil production will exceed 6 million barrels per day (bpd) in 2015 to hit 6.4 million bpd.
Investments for achieving the higher capacity would be made in preserving production capacity at the current level, increasing productivity of reservoirs and developing new oil fields.
Based on current plans, recovery factor of the Iranian oil reservoirs is to reach 27.5 percent and 30 percent in two stages.
Forecasts regarding oil supply and demand indicate that global oil demand will increase slowly, at least, during the next two decades.
Due to limited capacity of non-OPEC producers for meeting that demand the main burden should be shouldered by OPEC members.
