TEHRAN -- Former deputy foreign minister Mohsen Aminzadeh on Friday called Iran’s nuclear progress a great achievement.

Iran’s nuclear program is in complete accordance with its rights as a member of the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), Aminzadeh told members of the Islamic Iran Participation Party (IIPP) in a session dubbed “What should be done”.

In order to achieve nuclear rights Iran should plan on long-term confidence-building measures as Japan did instead of welcoming international isolation, the former official commented.

Aminzadeh said Iran managed the most successful foreign policy during the Khatami administration.

During the presidency of Khatami the foreign policy was based on international dialogue with the aim of achieving progress and development, he stated.

Aminzadeh served as deputy foreign minister for Asia and the Pacific affairs in the former administration.
