TEHRAN -- The Molana Band will be performing concerts in tribute to Qajar era singer Ali-Asghar Kordestani at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall in early August.

The band is conducted by Mohammad-Jalil Andalibi, and vocalist Alireza Shah-Mohammadi will accompany the group for the shows.

Kordestani was a Kurdish singer of the Qajar era. He was born in 1881 and died in 1937 in Salavatabad village, near Sanandaj, Kordestan Province.

Some of Kordestani’s songs have been rearranged and performed by contemporary singers Arsalan Kamkar and Jalaleddin Mohammadian.
