TEHRAN – Endeavors to develop the Bangestan oilfield in Ahvaz in a bid to boost its recovery rate, is among the main priorities of the Petroleum Engineering & Development Company (PEDEC) said Seifollah Jashnsaz on Wednesday.

The executive director of National Iranian South Oilfields Company (NISOC) said that some four mobile oil treaters (MOT) will be purchased by PEDEC in a near future to be used in repairing the oil wells and installations, adding that these MOTs are also vital for both protective production and protection of the environment.

Also in a session to predict the production rate at PEDEC oil wells, Jashnsaz said that developing the great oilfields of Ahvaz, Mansuri, Ramin and Ab-Teymur, reaching the daily production of over one million barrels of oil, making protective production at the oilfields and increasing the recovery rate through accurate scientific studies were among the programs of the Karun Oil and Gas Production Company.

Elsewhere in the session, Safar-Ali Raeeisi, deputy head of Karun Oil and Gas Production Company said that the company has for 101% realized its production programs for the first half of the Iranian calendar year (started March 21).

“The predicted oil production of this company in the current year has been about one million barrels per day; however, thanks to the relevant measures taken in this regard, the production rate of the company increased to 1.02 million barrels of oil per day during the first half of the year,” he further explained.

Raeeisi continued that during the first half of the current year, the company has successfully brought to surface some 576 million cubic feet of dried gas and produced some 63,788 barrels of liquid gas. SA/MA END MNA
