ZABOL, Sistan-Baluchestan Prov. (IRNA) -- A Majlis deputy said here Tuesday that the elections on Friday will be an important backdrop for the system and will play a very significant role in shaping Iranian policies on domestic and international affairs.
An MP from the southeastern city of Zabol, Abolqassem Mokhtari, told IRNA that a high turn-out in the upcoming Assembly of Experts and local council elections will raise the prestige of the country in the domestic and international arenas.
Mokhtari, who is also a member of the Majlis Social Committee, added that a high voter turn-out in the elections will also neutralize the plots of enemies and skeptics of the Islamic Republic system.
Iranians go to the polls on Friday to elect their representatives to the Assembly of Experts and city and village councils.
