SHIRAZ, Fars Prov. – In the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21-September 22), some 998,987 tons of petrochemicals was produced in Shiraz Petrochemical Complex, showing ten percent increase compared to the same period last year.

Ammonia (235,720 tons), urea (288,460 tons), methanol (53,230 tons), Nitric acid (173,390 tons), ammonium nitrate (123,843 tons), light carbonates (50,870 tons), and heavy carbonates (23,290 tons) comprised the lion’s share of the factory’s 6-month production.

Shiraz Petrochemicals was founded 43 years ago. Its initial main product was nitrate fertilizers. It is located 45 kilometers north of the city of Shiraz and covers an area of 300 hectares.
