TEHRAN (IRNA) –- Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee rapporteur Kazem Jalali said here on Tuesday that the Iran-U.S. legal dispute at the special court in The Hague is a national issue and has nothing to do with the government and political factions.

He made the remark while talking to reporters at the end of Majlis open session on Tuesday.

Concerning the draft bill on the arbitration process of Iran-U.S. disputes at The Hague, which was ratified by Majlis in the current week, he said that the issue has been pursued in the past 25 years.

"Despite proper measures taken to this effect by the new government and its serious pursuance of the issue, Majlis finds the arbitration process as questionable," said Jalali. Majlis rapporteur underlined that several attorney's offices were established by Iran in the Hague over the past years, adding,

"This is while the U.S. managed to settle 90 percent of its claims against Iran through its only lawyer working on the issue.

At Majlis open session on November 19, members of Iranian Parliament (Majlis), voted in favor of the draft bill on reviewing the arbitration process of Iran-U.S. disputes at The Hague.
