The Rls.3,550,000,000-million project in the nation’s strategic province of Bushehr situated on the Persian Gulf shores started back in 1996 and was built in two phases.

Minister of Roads and Transportation Mohammad Rahmati and a number of national and provincial officials will take part in the opening ceremony of the 2,065m long tunnel, an official with the ministry said on Wednesday.

Commenting on other road building projects he said that the ministry is currently developing a number of other similar projects across the nation, although financial problems slow the process of implementing those projects.
